The wedding cake was made with height as its primary goal and was decorated with a spackle and white paint mixture, beads, faux white tea roses, a wedding topper, and painted dowel rods to support the cake. We had a wedding cake already in stock, but I wanted to try my hand at designing a wedding cake for a show, especially one set in the 1980s.
For the folding wallet, I used black cardstock, 80’s printed-out credit cards, and fake plastic sleeves created with cut-up Ziploc bag plastic. The Motorola brick cell phone was made from Styrofoam packaging and a hot knife to create details.
I created centerpieces for each wedding at Touch of Class Catering, and stationary for characters to read and rip up. There was a toy plane used for scene transitions and different kiosks for the mall. This was an incredibly heavy prop and set dressing show.
