The Concept

Inspired by the childhood bedrooms of the 90s, the Dani Girl hospital room seeks to bring magic and whimsy to Dani and Marty who are (literally) battling cancer.

Hospital Flooring

Pulling from 1990s children's hospital wards, the Dani Girl floor functioned as a game board in Dani's fantasy games. Making this hospital room inviting was imperative.

Floor Process

Window Panels and Additional Set & Props Designs

"Real-world" window printed on 6'x3' framed luaun. All window panel pieces were attached with velcro and picture frame hardware.

Creating the Floor for Dani Girl

Rehearsal in the space prior to molding additions. Floor and hole in the walls indicative of Dani's world crumbling around her, pitched by the director. Functionally used so the accompanist could be heard better by the actors.
